Because other people’s feelings matter? ^^;
I actually agree with this quote… not because of what’s being said- well, no, actually I do agree with what’s being said. He isn’t saying he has the right to offend you or that he has the right to beat up on you while you have no right to defend yourself, he’s saying he has a right to say something without censoring himself on the basis that it might offend someone and that the other person has the right to be offended, sure, but be mature enough to look the other way. They can keep going on with their life without attempting to use their offense as a mechanism of righteousness to censor someone else.
In this world we can’t say anything without offending someone so if we listened to every “that offends me!” and backed down or, in another scenario, never said anything that could possibly offend at all we would all be very silent people.
