Shitty YA fiction ripped off video games and anime and made to tie into another genre novel’s success. Yes, I only hate things that are nerd popular, that’s why I lost my shit over A Song of Ice and Fire and blasted through them nonstop and went through a phase where I could not stop talking about them. Yep.
I hate that I get shit for being a picky reader. I hate that I have to apologize for the fact that ‘you need to shut your brain off to like it’ doesn’t cut it for me when it comes to books :/ Let me at least enjoy books that make me think or that leave me breathless without dismissing my opinions because you think I’m just some elitist hipster. I’m sorry that ‘It has steampunk!’ or ‘It has smut!’ isn’t enough to hook me.
